Media Mouse's contributors are activists from the Grand Rapids Michigan area who are involved in a variety of local and national movements for social change.

Why We Publish Anonymously

Most contributors to Media Mouse chose to publish their works anonymously under the Media Mouse banner. This decision was made primarily because we believe that publishing anonymously creates a more egalitarian media atmosphere where people are encouraged to participate and interact as equals without the artificial barriers and hierarchies that are often created when there is a disparity in experience levels between contributors and readers. The flexibility to publish anonymously allows people who cannot have their identity disclosed due to their association with the material they are posting about (for example, whistle-blowing activities). Lastly, Media Mouse is not a vehicle for fame—we are doing this because there is a need, not because we wish to build our own individual reputations or stroke our own egos—staying anonymous helps keep this in check.
