Collection of Iraq Withdrawal and Exit Strategies Now Online

|

The Project on Defense Alternatives (PDA) has put together a comprehensive collection of Iraq withdrawal plans and exit strategies, providing an invaluable resource for those involved in the antiwar movement or seeking a better understanding of the various proposals being discussed for “ending the war.” The plans, coming from a variety of “experts” with military or foreign policy backgrounds, tend to favor a gradual withdrawal that would reduce troop levels over a period of a year or more rather than the immediate withdrawal of the United States military that is being advocated by many in the antiwar movement. These plans largely reflect the views of politicians in the United States who, for the most part, have advocated a gradual withdrawal from Iraq. Additionally, the website contains a selection of commentary on the plans, although more radical positions are notably absent from the commentary.
