Two activists in the Grand Rapids area are hosting the following video contest:
"We are fast approaching 5 years that the US military has been occupying Iraq. In those 5 years we have heard about WMDs, Fallujah, the execution of Saddam, torture at Abu Ghraib, embedded journalists, Haditha, the Green Zone, Blackwater, over a million Iraqi dead, nearly 4,000 US soldiers dead, and a cost to US tax payers at roughly $500 billion.
Tell us what you think about the US War/Occupation of Iraq in 60 seconds or less. Contestants can submit one anti-war video that will be shown at a community event on March 15. The audience will vote on the best anti-war ad and the winner will receive fame and fortune...well, at least they will receive $100.
You can submit videos in DVD, mini-dv, or Quicktime format. There is a $5 submission fee and all submissions can be sent to either Mike Saunders at outobol[-@-]gmail.com or Jeff Smith at jsmith[-@-]mediamouse.org.
Location of the contest will be announced soon."
