|

The Millions More Movement's political action committee (PAC), the Committee for Positive Community Change, who last month launched a campaign to recall Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) board member David Allen, announced yesterday that their recall language was approved by the Board of Elections. According to previous statements from the organization, they will began to organize and promote the recall in the coming months. The statement issued yesterday also reiterated the reason why the group is recalling David Allen. The reasons, which go beyond his support for privatization, are his:

  1. Vote to privatize the substitute teacher staff.
  2. Refusal to consider women and minority owned firms before voting to privatize he substitute teacher staff.v
  3. Vote in favor of denying unfettered access to public comment at school board meetings.
  4. Leveraging his position as school board member to bid on vacant Grand Rapids Public School properties.
