According the front of the business section of the Grand Rapids Press, Dick DeVos is part of some very "Elite Company". The article is a full half page and features pictures of Dick DeVos, Michael Jordan, and Jesus Christ. The subtitle of the article, which is about a new motivational book, states "Like Michael Jordan and Jesus, Rich DeVos is focused on his mission". Pat Williams, Vice President of the Orlando Magic (which is owned by DeVos) and author of the book had this to say about DeVos:

"Whether you're talking about Jordan, DeVos or Jesus, each had enormous focus in what they were doing," he said. "They were not distracted by peripheral issues. They were focused on their mission and blocked out all the noise on the side and honed in on what needed to be done."

"Each had great passion, energy and enthusiasm for what they were doing. All had setbacks and disappointments, but they had the ability to hang on and never even considered not doing it."

While Media Mouse does not espouse or endorse any particular religion or spiritual beliefs, to compare Dick DeVos, a man who has earned billions in a pyramid scheme, to Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was crucified for challenging the oppressive power structures of his time (assuming that biblical accounts can be taken at face value, a risky proposition considering the lack of collaborative historical evidence) seems to be in very poor taste indeed. The fact that the Grand Rapids press would run such an article just further illustrates how willing they are to pander to wealth and power.
