President Bush to Speak in Grand Rapids on Friday

|

According to today's issue of the Grand Rapids Press, President George W. Bush will speak in Grand Rapids this Friday, April 20. The Press article cites unnamed "local sources" who tell the Press that President Bush will deliver a policy speech on Iraq at in Grand Rapids, although no location has been confirmed. The White House has confirmed that President Bush will visit Michigan on Friday, although they have not said whether he will stop in Grand Rapids. The Press further reports that Aquinas College and Calvin College were initially ruled out as venues, with the White House looking for a venue that can accommodate 500 people and "intense media interest."

While the article gives no estimate as to what time Bush will be speaking, it does say that Bush will be coming to Michigan following a 10:30am ceremonial signing of the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program Reauthorization Act.
