Back in January when Media Mouse began hosting the Grand Rapids Institute for Information Democracy (GRIID), one of the projects that moved to Mediamouse.org was the Progressive Directory of Western Michigan. It was moved over "as is" with few changes, leaving behind a structure that was somewhat lacking.

Among the changes are a more improved interface that makes it easier to view the 90+ groups currently contained in the Directory. Profiles for individual groups have also been updated making it easier to quickly locate a group's contact information. Additionally, we have incorporated a calendar into the Directory so that people can quickly see what events are coming up and so that organizers can search for potential conflicts. The sections listing event flyers and ongoing organizing campaigns have also been updated. Finally, there is now an online form to sign-up for the low-volume Progressive Directory discussion list and to add a group to the Directory.

More importantly, over the next couple of months we will be working to improve the listings by removing groups that are no longer active, updating out of date information, and adding new groups. In the mean time, feel free to check out the existing groups or add a group that you work with.
