This month's Critical Mass bike ride is scheduled for September 30 at 5:30pm at Veteran's Park (corner of Fulton and Sheldon in Grand Rapids).

This month, following the ride, there will be a screening of Still We Ride, a new documentary about New York City's crackdown on Critical Mass. Beginning with the arrest of 264 people at the 5,000 person August 2004 Critical Mass held in conjunction with protests against the Republican National Convention, the City of New York and the NYPD have been engaging in an ongoing campaign to "criminalize" the ride. The NYPD has arrested numerous participants at each ride and the city has filed lawsuits in an effort to punish the "leaders" of Critical Mass.

The screening will take place at 7:00pm in the board room of the the Wealthy Street Theatre. The Critical Mass ride will loop through downtown a couple of times and then head to over to the Theatre for the screening. For more on the film, visit stillweridethemovie.com or view the trailer.
