Survey Indicates CAFTA Opponents Nearing Votes to Defeat Deal

According to an article in today's Washington Trade Daily, opponents of CAFTA nearly have the 218 votes needed to defeat CAFTA when it comes up for a vote in the House. A survey conducted by Washington Trade Daily found that of the 292 members of the House responding to the survey, 165 will or are likely to vote against CAFTA. Only 73 of those surveyed, primarily Republican, indicated they would support the agreement. Fifty-four Representatives indicated that they were undecided.
