In March 2003, the Pentagon awarded Rockford-based Wolverine Worldwide a contract to manufacture boots for the military. Within the past month Wolverine has hired replacement workers due to a strike by the union. Taxpayers pay for the military contract, which benefits Wolverine and then they don’t honor worker demands.
