Far Right Database Updates

|

Today, Media Mouse added new information to one of our most popular features, our "Far Right in West Michigan" database. We added new grant data for the following foundations:

As in 2006 when we launched the database and included the initial round of grant data, there is a large mix of grants contained in the database. These foundations fund not only far right causes--from think-tanks to like the Heritage Foundation to religious right organizations like Focus on the Family--they also fund a considerable number of "public benefit" projects such as arts organizations and museums. However, in what little media attention that these foundations do receive, reporters never mention their contributions to the far right. Of the foundations that we updated today, the Dick and Betsy DeVos Foundation has made by far the most contributions to the far right. In particular, it continues to fund a number of organizations pushing for school vouchers.

Over the next week, we will update the rest of the foundations with new data.
