On Thursday, August 21, 2008, one of the country's wealthiest communities will celebrate the Nakba--the violent ethnic cleansing and colonization of Palestine in 1948--in a poor neighborhood in Detroit. And if all goes well, a large group of folks, representing metro Detroit's large Black and Arab communities and other Palestinian solidarity activists, will be on hand to nonviolently send the message that triumphal celebrations of racism and genocide will not go unchallenged in Detroit.

A week ago when MSU's chapter of Young Americans for Freedom hosted British racist Nick Griffin, the audience included at least three members of the racist Internet message board "Stormfront." Beyond posting on the message board, the three have all been involved in the organized racist movement.

Racists Overshadowed by Protestors in Kalamazoo
Saturday's white supremacist rally organized by Internet radio talk show host Hal Turner was overshadowed by the two-hundred protestors that showed up to tell Turner and his racist friends that they were not welcome in Kalamazoo. The racists turned out about 25 people, all of whom appeared to be connected to the organized racist movement.
