Analysis:

This is obviously a self promotional piece for the local Fox affiliate, since the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle airs on Fox 17. Viewers should ask themselves how this can be classified as news and why the media industry journal Variety would be used as the only source in this story, especially since it does not provide a critical perspective on TV programming.

Story:

Fox 17 News reader – It seems like Malcolm might be middle aged before the show goes off the air. It looks like Malcolm in the Middle will be back on Fox. Variety is reporting that the network will keep the sitcom around for a seventh season, but the creator says that will probably be the last hoorah for Malcolm and his somewhat dysfunctional family.
