This is another short poll based story. Unlike previous polls that asked people which of the two gubernatorial candidates they would vote for, this poll asks if people have a “favorable” opinion of the candidates. No claification is made as to how accurate an indicator this is to how people would actually vote. Nor is it noted that a larger percentage of people actaully had an opinion about the Governor, 82% while only 63% of the people surveyed had an opinion on challenger Dick DeVos. Beyond that, approval ratings have little value in terms of actually informing viewers as to the qualities of the candidates.

WZZM 13 Newsreader ÐThe latest poll on the governorsÕ race shows public opinion swaying in favor of Republican Dick DeVos. Our exclusive WZZM 13 Survey USA poll asked nearly five hundred fifty registered voters what they thought of each gubernatorial candidate. The Republican challenger got better ratings than the Governor. 40% of voters had a favorable opinion of Dick Devos, 23% had an unfavorable opinion. Not as many had a favorable opinion of governor Granholm, 36%, 46% had an unfavorable opinion of the Governor.
