Grand Rapids Colombian Support Network

In the fall of 2000 a Grand Rapids chapter of the Colombian Support Network was created by a group of concerned local citizens. For the first year good progress was made and the chapter organized seveal events and was able to bring two Colombian speakers to Grand Rapids. After Sept. 11 2001, the local CSN chapter, like many social justice movements around the country, suffered as members shifted focus to resisting the US military interventions in Afghanistan and Iraq. With the recent visit of Father Jaokim from Colombia this April, there is renewed interest in restarting the Grand Rapids Chapter. In order to do this, the Grand Rapids chapter needs new people to get involved and to assume leadership roles within the organization. Media Mouse has agreed to help promote GR CSN and will be posting regular updates about Colombia.
