15 Soldiers Killed this Week as Bush Administration Continues PR Campaign to Gain Support for War

This week the Bush administration has continued its public relations campaign to increase public support of its Iraq policy. Yesterday Vice President Dick Cheney criticized Democrats as “opportunist” who were peddling “cynical and pernicious falsehoods” about the Iraq war and warned against “rewriting history,” a theme introduced last week in a speech by President Bush.

Evidence showing that the Bush administration lied with regard to intelligence on Iraq has been completely absent from its discussions and administration officials have continued to lie about pre-war intelligence while failing to address what is actually happening in Iraq. Since Monday, 15 US soldiers have been killed in Iraq out of a total of 52 for the month. Moreover, President Bush’s current campaign has alienated some Republican party members and caused them to withdraw their support for the President’s agenda.
