		<description>The whole Exxon funding was one sentence of a much longer article, and while it is important, using it as a basis to dismiss the entire article as an &quot;ad hominem&quot; attack is ridiculous. It doesn&#039;t change the reality of the science.

Beyond that, I feel fairly confident that the scientists who receive money via their jobs to research global warming are not making their statements--many of which predict dire consequences for all of humanity (including them)--are not doing so for money. I think the statements of Exxon-related entities should be treated with much more skepticism, as they have a very clear profit interest in maintaining the status quo.

As far as I&#039;m concerned money is money so I just judge by the facts of things rather than the ad hominem both in its negative and positive forms.
