MediaMouse.org was a leftist blog and news website covering Grand Rapids, Michigan that existed in varying capacities from 1999 to 2009. We stopped publishing in June of 2009, you can read more about why here. This site now archives all of our content so that hopefully folks can learn and/or be inspired by the past several years of activism in Grand Rapids.

Award-winning journalist Amy Goodman, host of the daily, grassroots, global, radio/TV news hour Democracy Now!, is on a national speaking tour to mark DN!’s 12th anniversary and launch her third book with journalist David Goodman, Standing Up to the Madness: Ordinary Heroes in Extraordinary Times.

The book explores how grassroots activists have taken politics out of the hands of politicians and tells the stories of everyday citizens who have challenged the government and prevailed.

Following the lecture, there will be a book signing and books will be available for purchase.

This event is a fundraiser for the local left and progressive independent news website Mediamouse.org. Mediamouse.org provides news, analysis, and commentary covering Grand Rapids, Michigan and beyond to inspire grassroots activism to transform our community, our lives, and our world.
