Even though the mainstream media has increased its focus on the issue of faulty intelligence leading up to the war on Iraq pertaining to weapons of mass destruction, it is important that we maintain a critical view of the mainstream media and continue to pressue them to improve their coverage. While Fox News has done a horrible job reporting on Iraq and WMD, Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting has issued a media alert showing that other news agencies are ignorning important questions about WMD intelligence. Moreover, while the mainstream media has discussed calls for an independent investigation of WMD intelligence, there has been no substantive analysis of the 9/11 Commission, a body that would likely be a prototype for any independent investigation of WMD intelligence.
Finally, in preparation for Dick Cheney's visit to Grand Rapids, there is a new article by Andre Gunder Frank entitled "Coup D'Etat in Washington" that outlines a multitude of reasons why we need regime change in the United States.
