The mainstream media has been paying plenty of attention to the story of Bush using false intelligence in his state of the union speech concerning Iraq’s alleged attempts to buy uranium from Niger. While it is good that the press is asking these questions, this is a case of too little, too late. The fact that the Niger documents were forgeries was common knowledge before the war and yet mainstream media failed to make an issue of it then. Check out the first People’s Alliance bulletin from March 17, 2003 for confirmation of this. By focusing almost exclusively on the Niger- uranium story, the mainstream press is ignoring all the other instances where the Bush Administration lied in order to justify the invasion of Iraq.
