Z Net has posted an excellent article by Noam Chomsky that examines the ramifications of the war in Iraq and the United States new policy of preventive invasion. In addition to analyzing the recent war, Chomsky, as usual, does an excellent job of placing the current policy in its historical and global context. In addition to the Chomsky article, the Washington Post published a surprisingly revealing article on the Bush administration's efforts to make the public case that Iraq had nuclear weapons. The article is an excellent look at the inner-workings of the Bush administration and the ways in which "literary license" was used by administration officials to sell the idea that Iraq was developing nuclear weapons.
In addition to the aforementioned articles, there are new details about exactly which oil companies have been awarded contracts for oil production in Iraq -- anti-war activists should take note for possible campaigns. Public Citzen has setup a new website to help track Bush's corporate connections and the ways in which they are helping to pay for his campaign on their new website, whitehouseforsale.org.
