The Bush administration has used the attacks on September 11, 2001 as a justification for the war on Iraq, claiming that an invasion was necessitated by the "post-9/11" climate and the possibility of terror attacks coming from people based in Iraq. Of course, that was a fabrication, Iraq can be considered more of a threat now than before the war (at least to US troops and others on the ground in Iraq). Moreover, there are still questions about how exactly the September 11 attacks were able to go off undetected. The September issue of In These Times has an look at the "unanswered questions of 9/11," an interesting piece in light of the questions raised by the recent report on the attacks. The article forgoes the nonsensical conspiracy theories that have been tossed around since September of 2001 and instead provides a worthwhile look at what is still unanswered.
