Editorial Policy

Both in inviting contributions from the community and in publishing its own news, Media Mouse adheres to the following principles:

  • Media Mouse aims to provide grassroots coverage of political and social issues that are being either ignored or inadequately covered by the corporate media.
  • While Media Mouse covers national and international issues, the primary focus is on news in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Media Mouse strives to provide coverage of interest to the people of Grand Rapids and the various progressive movements that exist within the city.
  • All submitted articles are reviewed by Media Mouse before they are posted on the site in order to provide accurate and clearly written news.
  • Content is published using the Creative Commons license and is offered free for non-profit re-use.
  • Media Mouse does not post news that is racist, sexist, homophobic, or fascist in nature.
